Our Vision . . .

To have teenagers influence their community to be more aware of the risk factors of cardiovascular disease, and to teach skills to combat against cardiovascular diseases that their community face.

Our Goals . . .

  • To help teenagers gain knowledge and skills for heart healthy living and habits.
  • To help teenagers recognize the problem that cardiovascular diseases pose to many families in Philadelphia.

Our Program . . .

This is a 12 weeks program. 8 of those weeks focus on helping teens build skills and healthy habits through cooking skills, nutritional education, resilience, and physical fitness. Through yoga and physical fitness, teens learn different ways to reduce stress in their lives. The final 4 weeks of the program is dedicated to helping the teenagers develop leadership and community outreach skills. They get a chance to participate in a Teen Battle Chef contest, and are also introduced to several resources in the community.
